Kittery Womenade was founded by a group of women who realized that by getting friends together, something they already enjoyed doing, they could make an impact on peoples lives in small but powerful ways. They wanted to help people in the community get a hand up when just a little help was needed.

Kittery Womenade is a grass-root, non-profit organization of women dedicated to helping others. The idea is simple: we gather friends together to raise money so that we can provide short-term financial assistance to eligible individuals and families in OUR community when it is not available through other established resources.

Requests for assistance are facilitated only though professional community figures such as a school nurse, social worker, teacher or clergy member who validate requests and connect with Womenade to meet needs.

Financial Assistance is provided for basic needs such as: Housing, Utilities, Food, Heat, Medical/Dental and for crisis situations. Requests remain anonymous.

Kittery Womenade has made positive contributions to the community in a variety of ways, such as helping people stay in their homes, preventing utilities from being shut off and supporting single parents in the move from temporary to permanent housing.

We welcome our neighbors to join in the spirit of giving through fundraising activities.

Our fundraising is driven by small house parties with friends in an atmosphere of celebrating and strengthening the community. While enjoying each others company we raise money for a greater purpose.
